Registration for Summer 2008

Dear Students,

We are now in our 6th year at the university…and we are growing bigger and bigger in reputation, achievement and student body. This academic year 2007-2008 has witnessed the largest enrollment of new students, attracted by the facilities that the university is providing, the serious British Programmes offered, and the British and Lebanese validated degrees awarded upon the successful completion of the programmes of study; in addition to the flexible time schedules and minimal tuition fees.

In the quest to satisfy the needs of the labor market and to equip students with the required skills for the world of work, AOU is launching new tracks within the Business Department: General Studies, Accounting, and Marketing; and within the Computer Department: Information and Communication Technology, Computer Programming, and Computing with Business; where as in English, a new track namely English Language with Business was introduced.

In addition, AOU Lebanon has recently become a Cisco Certified Academy Center. It is currently teaching the CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) program. This will allow students to obtain the Cisco CCNA Certificate, which is a leading certification in the networking and IT fields.

Student Services have also witnessed development. From outside the university, students can have remote access regarding the registration process, payment and pay slips, grades, transcripts, advising, and requests from various departments etc.

Moreover, we have an infirmary that looks after our students and staff in case of sickness and accidents. Counseling services are available too if you need help with an academic or a personal problem that you are facing; AOU is developing to cater for your needs.

In September 2008, we will probably start our post-graduate programme and offering Master’s degree in Business, IT and English Language and Literature. More post graduate fields will be added in the following year, with both Lebanese and British degrees.

With these new plans being underway, AOU Lebanon is expanding its horizons. Congratulations to our staff, academics and students on these accomplishments, and more is yet to come…
